I graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.

After completing my degree, I taught third grade in Long Hill Township School District. While employed as a full year maternity leave replacement, I continued my job search for a permanent position. Teaching sixth grade in Green Brook Middle School was where I found that position. In the two years I worked there, I taught all of the sixth grade science classes and a language arts section. There, I also taught a seventh grade math class and a computer class. Finally, I was offered an opportunity to go back to teaching elementary students in the Watchung Borough School District. Here I was tenured and taught fourth grade for three years and fifth grade for one year. After a three year maternity leave for both of my children, I resigned to stay home with them full time.

While taking time to focus on raising my children, I have continued to stay active in education. Most recently, I worked for Woodglen Publishing, as an editor on a language arts application for Pearson Education. I also had the fortune to work for the Sparks Foundation and Science Explorers as their head teacher. My position involved teaching hands on science lessons to the entire student body of kindergarten through third grade students in Lenape Meadows Elementary School in Mahwah, New Jersey, over the course of four days once a month. Currently, I am an involved member of the community. I volunteered for years on the Haytown Nursery School Board of Directors as Vice President, as the Califon Parent Teacher Association Co-Vice President, as the Califon Girl Scout Organizer and a Girl Scout Troop Leader.

Currently, this is my fifth year teaching fifth grade at Califon School!
